Indian head massage is a flexible treatment, suited to events and workplaces as well as to the treatment room or salon.
On completion of this unit you will be able to prepare for and carry out a full Indian head massage treatment , both over clothing and directly onto the skin using oils.

You will learn :
- about client care , consultation and aftercare advice
- about safe and hygienic working practices and how to prepare the workspace
- about the development of Indian head massage as a therapy.
- the potential benefits, contraindications to, and contra-actions of Indian head massage
- about oils commonly used in Indian head massage and their properties.
- relevant anatomy and physiology
- how to carry out Indian head massage and provide aftercare advice to the client.
- how to evaluate and record treatment results.
Attendance : 4 full days initial practical training Further practical and theory assessment and portfolio submission day 4-6 weeks later .This course can also be run as a twilight or evening class over four to six evenings - please contact us to arrange this.
Workload: There will be a written assignment . workbooks and case studies ( one client three times) to complete outwith class. You will build a portfolio of evidence as you progress through the unit, with guidance from your course tutor. This unit also requires that you complete a mandatory assessment paper set by the awarding body .
Entry requirements: There are no formal entry requirements, though candidates should be aged 18 +
Additional information : Energise Therapy Training will provide massage oils for use at the practical training day and for two treatments on the assessment day. We can provide a kit on request – please contact us for details.
Flexible study options: Energise Therapy Training @TLC offer this subject either as a practical unit only or as the full Level 3 Certificate in Indian Head Massage ( AM30137) which incorporates client care and health and safety units . The award requires additional home study with a further attendance day to sit the VTCT mandatory paper for health and safety , and costs an additional
